Check out my body!

I needed some basic animations, so I took some of Moss's early sketches and brought them to life.  They are NOT the final game sprites, just place holders.  I also coded in the ability to play with my Playstation 3 controller, which makes it feel so much more gamey.

Cheers,

  1. Looks like you are making much better progress now with GameMaker! I'm glad to see it...and you must keep it up. I think you will have lots to benefit from the surface tutorial that comes standard with GMS since it also has top down and zombie killing blood spatter and explosion and barrels bombs and gun with bullets in the same top down effect with basic surface shading techniques. No need for shaders just yet.

  2. I think I have seen a video of the demo, but haven't seen the code for the demo itself yet. Maybe I'll take a look. Right now, I'm already drawing everything to a surface. Two actually. All objects are drawn to one surface, and all the line of sight shading in another. I can actually hit F5 to toggle on and off the line of sight for debugging purposes. The surface you are watching are actually stationary, and all objects are drawn with respect to the focus point, which is your character location.

  3. How did you make the PS3 controller work on GM?

  4. Cleroth,

I downloaded MotioninJoy drivers (made in china - the website is awful), but then use Better DS3 (also free online) as it does not require an online connection to use which connects to china. Both are easily searchable on Google.
